These terms are an agreement between you and Xesturgy Media ("Xesturgy Media", "we", "us") covering your use of the Sift Android application and the siftcleaner.app website (together, "Sift"). By installing or using Sift, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Sift.
1. Your licence to use Sift
We grant you a personal, non exclusive, non transferable, revocable licence to install and use Sift on devices you own or control, for your own use. You may not sell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the app.
You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to enter a binding contract where you live, to use Sift.
2. Your files, and what deletion means
Sift is a tool that helps you find and remove files on your own device. You decide what gets deleted.
Deletion is permanent. When you empty the Review Bin and confirm the Android system dialog, the selected files are removed from your device. Sift does not keep a copy, and neither do we. We cannot recover a deleted file for you. Keep a backup of anything you care about before you clean.
Swiping left in Sift does not delete anything. It queues the item in the Review Bin, and the file stays untouched until you tap Empty Bin and confirm Android's own deletion dialog. Video compression replaces an original only after you review the result and confirm.
You are responsible for reviewing what you delete. We are not liable for files you chose to remove.
3. Sift Pro subscriptions
Sift is free to install. Scanning, the full results of that scan, the screenshot and large file views, Quick Clean, the Review Bin, and a set number of cleanups each day work without paying.
Sift Pro is an optional auto renewing subscription that removes the daily cleanup limit and unlocks unlimited swipe to sort sessions, unlimited duplicate cleanup, and on device video compression. It is offered in three billing periods:

Current prices are shown inside the app before you purchase, and on your Google Play confirmation screen. Prices vary by country and may include tax depending on where you live. The price shown in Google Play at the moment of purchase is the price that applies.
All subscriptions are sold and processed by Google Play, not by us. Payment is charged to your Google Play account. We never see or store your card details.
4. Free trial
Sift Pro may be offered with a 3 day free trial for new subscribers. If a trial is offered to you, it will be stated on the purchase screen before you confirm.
If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription converts to a paid subscription automatically and your Google Play account is charged the price of the plan you selected. To avoid a charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
Trial eligibility is determined by Google Play. A free trial is generally available only once per Google account per subscription.
5. Automatic renewal and cancellation
Sift Pro subscriptions renew automatically. Google Play charges your account within 24 hours before the end of the current period, and the subscription continues until you cancel it.
You cancel in Google Play, not in Sift. On your Android device, open the Google Play Store, tap your profile icon, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions, select Sift, then Cancel subscription. You can also manage it at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions.
Cancelling stops future renewals. It does not shorten the period you already paid for. Your Pro features stay active until the end of the current billing period. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
6. Refunds
Google Play is the merchant of record, so every purchase is covered by Google Play's refund policy and you can ask Google directly.
You can also ask us. We are able to issue refunds for Sift Pro ourselves through the Google Play Console, and we will consider any reasonable request, including one Google has already turned down. Write to support@siftcleaner.app with the Google Play order number and what went wrong. If you subscribed by mistake, or Sift did not work on your device, we would rather refund you than argue about it.
Statutory rights you hold where you live are not affected by this section.
7. Price and plan changes
We may change subscription prices or what a plan includes. Where a change affects an existing subscription, Google Play will notify you in advance and, where required, ask you to accept the new price before it takes effect. If you do not accept, your subscription will not renew at the new price.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble Sift except where that restriction is prohibited by law, not to attempt to bypass the subscription entitlement checks, not to interfere with or overload siftcleaner.app or the endpoints the app uses, and not to use Sift to delete files you are not authorised to delete.
9. Intellectual property
Sift, the Sift name, and the Sift logo are owned by Xesturgy Media. These terms do not transfer any ownership to you. Open source components used in Sift are listed at siftcleaner.app/licenses and remain under their own licences.
Your files remain entirely yours. We claim no rights over anything on your device.
10. Third party services
Sift uses Google Play Billing, Google Play Install Referrer, and Google Play In App Review. Your use of those is governed by Google's terms and privacy policy.
Sift is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WhatsApp Inc. or Meta Platforms, Inc. The WhatsApp media feature only reads a folder you select yourself using Android's folder picker.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
Sift is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non infringement. We do not warrant that Sift will be uninterrupted, error free, or that it will identify every duplicate or every reclaimable file on your device.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Xesturgy Media is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, files, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of Sift, even if we have been advised of the possibility.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to Sift is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Sift in the 12 months before the claim, or twenty five US dollars.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
13. Termination
You may stop using Sift at any time by uninstalling it, and cancel any subscription through Google Play. We may suspend or terminate your licence if you materially breach these terms. Sections 9 through 12 survive termination.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. You and Xesturgy Media agree that the state and federal courts located in Dallas County, Texas have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these terms, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence, or of the right to bring proceedings there where that right cannot be waived.
